Stagehand

Hey, today was really great!! i really enjoyed myself today and i think everyone else would have aswell. I really liekd how jeff spiced it up a bit by adding the extra scene. It really did wake everyone up and lift their game. i thought chloe and lauren did really well at ad libbing the extra scene. i thought David was also a good newsreader and interviewer. I liked the factthat tday was a little more challenging, with the cameras having to do extra moves. It kept Lauren and i on our feet pretty much the whole time. Overall it was agreat day, and by far the best time i've had in the studio so far!

Assessment 2

I beleive my delicious, flickr and blogger accounts all show evidence of interestingness and are aesthetically pleasing.

Blogger- My blog includes posts about all sorts of things..most of whihc are random. For example this post about alcohol. Now this post may be completely boring to someone, but may alos be completly interesting to others. The aesthetics of this posts are quite good i beleive. The picture which has been inserted to the top left adds alot to the aesthetics of this particular post. I belive all posts with pictures look alot better than those without. Here is an example of a post without a picture. The difference between the two are very noticable, i beleive. Thats the thing, aesthetics, like interestingness, is purely subjective. What one may find extremely attractive, another may not. I do belive this blog is aesthetically pleasing though.

Flickr- My Flickr account includes pictures, thta i believe people who dont assoicate with the poeple in them will find aesthetically pleasing and interesting. For example i have included a couple of pictures, which i find amusing, and would expect others to aswell. These can be found here. These can be found here.

I have also included pictures of landscapes, whihc i belive most others will find aestehtically pleasing. These can be found here.

Other pictures i think others will find interetsing and aesthetcally pleasing

Delicious- My delicious account includes a range of different websites. Like my blogger account, alot of the sites postes are random. An example of an interesting and aesthetically pleasing site i have potsed includes this site (Funny Stuff

I belive all my accounts have aesthtically pleasing qualities, as well as interestingness. I believe the fonts and colours i used are attractive..i picked random colours, whihc i thought worked well. The font i randomly chose also, but i do beleive it wokrs well in this blog.

Valentines Day?

Valentine's Day originates from the ancient Roman fertility festival of Lupercalia, which was celebrated on 15 February in honour of the gods Lupercus and Faunus, as well as the legendary founders of Rome, Romulus and Remus. During the festival, young men would draw the names of women from a box, and each couple would be paired until next year's celebration. Often they would fall in love and marry.

At around 270AD Rome was facing battles and civil uprising. The men were not keen to join the army. Emperor Claudius II believed that the men did not want to leave their loved ones and summarily cancelled all marriages and engagements. Two priests, Valentine and Marius, disobeyed the decree and secretly performed marriage ceremonies. Valentine was caught on 14 February and dragged to jail. Later in the day he was clubbed to death and beheaded. It is said that, before his execution, Valentine himself had fallen in love with the jailer's daughter. He signed his final note to her, "From your Valentine."

Camera 3

Hey, this week i was on CAM 3...i liked it. i liked how steve asked us to do extra shots...i had to do an over shoulder 2 shot, which i got the hang of after bruce showed me how to get the camera into the right position easily. Before that i was having trouble getting the shot quickly, becasue i didn't knwo how to move the camera in the best way.

i think i need ot prectise moving the zoom, pan, and tilt really slowly. i would know what i had to d but kept jerling the camera bit while trying to get it.

I thought Pat was a really good floor manager, he was loud and kept us all informed on what was happening.

Teleprompter

Last friday i was telepromter..i really liked that job, i found it pretty easy. i didnt really know how to set it up and turn it on and stuff, but once it was goign it was fine (oh and i know how to set it up now). i noticed that there were mistakes through the script on the computer so i read through it and fixed it up, it took awhile, but i got it done it time. It took a bit to get used to the knob thing aswell that makes the script scroll, but after a few minutes of practisng, i got the hang. Lauren was having a bit of trouble on one of the words in the script (apache'), i remebered the week before pat or bruce saying that you can change the words in the script to make them easier for a presenter or whatever to read, so i did.

I thought Jarrad was a really good floor manager, he seemed to have things under control, and by the recording, everything was pretty much right on the floor.
